  1. Anne Marie Ward asks about Headphones 20 Dec 2020

Please can you tell me if the skull Candy wireless headphones work if you have hearing aides ?
    Thanks Anne Marie

    1. Tony Hesketh answers 20 Dec 2020

      Hi Anne-Marie

It does depend very much on the type of hearding aids and the type of headphones. Technically there is no reason why not. I am no expert in this field however I have found some very helpful information here on clearliving.com

      https://www.clearliving.com/hearing/technology/headphones-and-hearing-aids/#:~:text=No%2C%20they%20don't%20have,coming%20from%20the%20hearing%20aid.

      Hope this helps

I have a project debut turntable and the needle has gone. Therefore need a replacement stylus. Can you help? I’m based in Hampshire

    1. Tony Hesketh answers 21 Dec 2020

      Hi

We may be able to help you with this. I would need to know the model of the turntable and also see a photo of the cartridge. I will send you an email with regards to this

      Thanks

  3. Mariusz asks about The Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO Turntable 17 Dec 2020

Hello. How come every review of EVO on You Tube mentions a Sumiko cartridge but you guys have an Ortofon Red in your offer ? I live in UK, is this a reason ?

    1. answers 17 Dec 2020

      Hello Mariusz

The UK version of the Debut Carbon Evo is supplied from the factory with a 2M fitted, hence the reason why the UK reviews or sales are 2M red. Sumiko is an affiliate company of Pro-Ject and in some markets the Debut Carbon Evo is offered with the Sumiko Rainer cartridge. The price is about the same (it is $499 in the US I believe). I hope this helps

  4. Chris Bradshaw asks about Accessories 6 Dec 2020

I have your Novo headphone amp linked to my highly modified Naim preamp. Do you recommend any high quality interconnects -5pin din to phono for the Novo.
    Thanks Chris Bradshaw

    1. Tony Hesketh answers 7 Dec 2020

      HI Chris
One of the best options, particularly as you are using the Novo, would be the Graham Slee Cusat Interconnects. They are usually £140 for a 1m pair and we can order those. However these are RCA > RCA in their standard form and as you are going into a 5 pin din some modification would be needed. I can order you a 6 pin to 2 RCA made by the same company for £140 - so that would be £280 for the full set. The other options are the Chord Clearway at £125 for a 1m pair RCA/DIN or a Chord Shawline 1m pair RCA/DIN at £250 - no breakout box is needed with these options. You could also consider a further modification to the Naim and have RCA sockets fitted - thus increasing the range of products available to you and making the superb Cusat available for £140. This is not the full list of what we have available, we do also do the higher end Epic and Signature series of cables at £400 and £800 respectively.. So lots of choice from us at various prices. Just ask if you have any questions about these. Hope this helps. Tony, Phonostage Audio

  5. John Ayling asks about Rega Planar 2 Turntable in Gloss Black or Gloss White 19 Nov 2020

Can i connect the Rega Planar 2 to my Sonos system

    1. answers 20 Nov 2020

      <p>Hi</p>
      <div> </div>
<div>Thanks for the enquiry. The Sonos does have a line input to connect other devices, however turntables (most of them) need to go into a ‘Phono’ input to work straight off. A Phono input has a separate small preamplifier built into it to amplify the extremely low signal that comes out of a turntable. The Sonos does not have a Phono input but many still run turntables and here is the way to do it….</div>
      <div> </div>
<div>There are a couple of easy ways to sort this. There is the Rega P1 Plus which has a built in preamplifier so will plug straight into a Sonos or any device with a line/aux input, or the P2 can be used by adding a separate phono preamplifier in-between the deck and the Sonos to lift the signal to line levels.</div>
      <div> </div>
<div>We sell both the Rega Planar Plus in black and white and if you still prefer the P2 then we have a range of phono preamps you could use with it, such as the Pro-ject one that also has USB out so can also record into a computer for £100</div>
      <div> </div>
<div>Have a look at these links to the Rega I am referring to… though I don’t have the Rega phono-preamp listed at the moment but we do sell them.</div>

  6. David Fitzpatrick asks about All-In-One Systems 17 Nov 2020

    Any second hand hifi ...thanks

    1. Tony Hesketh answers 20 Nov 2020

HI - Unfortunately we don't have any second-hand items at the moment. We probably will have ex-demo stuff coming up after a period of time and sometimes we have returns and 'open box' items so it is worth keeping an eye out for these.. they will be listed with a 'sale' badge on them and will be visble

      Hope this helps
